Jeffrey Foucault Oakland Concert reviews
Styx at Silver Creek Event Center
I'll start by saying that the venue was excellent. High praise for having no problems with entry, and this is what their conduct should continue to be going forward.
Jeffrey Foucault is going to receive only three stars, and here are the reasons for that: The way they informed their fans about the canceled M&G's was done at the very last minute, in most cases; they've shortened their shows, and there's an overall feeling of disconnection between the band and the fans when Jeffrey Foucault is on stage. Tommy's voice remains as great as ever, eternally youthful, and you can still see (and know) that he genuinely loves and needs to be touring and playing live shows. However, he does need to try to find his special connection with the audience again, the way he used to, not just hit a few pre-planned marks. Many fans come to these shows to see him, and one of the things they've always loved about him is how natural and genuine he would be when interacting with the audience. Currently, that aspect of him is feeling like it's missing. Hopefully, as he continues to do shows and gets back out there, he'll be able to reconnect with the fans, because he truly loves them. The keyboard player is contrived and, frankly, annoying, while the rest of the band seems very detached from everything (chewing gum, looking like they do not care, etc.). This needs to be improved next year, especially since next year will be a special anniversary year for this band.
